FIR of attack on GHQ registered

Rawalpindi police on Monday registered the First Information Report (FIR) of the terrorist attack on the General Headquarters of Pakistan Army and a joint investigation team was constituted to probe the matter. The FIR was registered in R A Bazar Police Station, as the GHQ falls in the jurisdiction of this police station and Muhammad Aqeel alias Dr Usman, who was detained during the operation was nominated in the FIR along with his nine accomplices.
Sections related to Anti-Terrorist Act were mentioned in the FIR and after recovery from injuries, Aqeel will be handed over to police for further investigation. The forensic experts have got the fingerprints of the terrorists killed during the operation on Saturday and Sunday. Their DNA tests would also be conducted, police sources told Business Recorder.
They said the experts have also collected the samples of explosive and other material used by terrorists in the attack to look from which sources this material was attained. They said the bodies of the terrorists were kept in the CMH, while Aqeel a most wanted terrorist belonging to defunct Jaish e Muhammad having Rs 5 million as head money, is under treatment in the hospital. Soon after his recovery he will be taken into custody for investigation. The investigators will meet the eyewitnesses, security officials and hostages to question them about the incident.
