Every step to be taken for ending terrorism: CCPO

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said that Lahore Police would take every possible step for elimination of terrorism and to protect life and property of the citizens and Jehad against terrorism was our collective responsibility and every citizen has to play an effective role in order to uproot the menace of terrorism.
He was talking to citizens on the occasion of Open Court held at Capital City Police Headquarters, here on Monday. He also directed Police officers to ensure strict surveillance of crowded bazaars, markets, schools and colleges and other crowded places in the city, besides keeping a vigilant eye at banks, money changers, financial institutions, patrol pumps, important offices, industrial units and all other places dealing in cash business in their respective areas.
CCPO said that those property dealers and owners of hotels and guesthouses, who would provide temporary residential facilities, to new tenants without proper legal verification, would be proceeded against strictly under the Terrorism Act. He said that the scourge of terrorism could be eradicated only with wholehearted co-operation of the people. He said that elimination of terrorism was our joint national responsibility and Lahore Police working towards this end with complete dedication and commitment.
He called upon the citizens of Lahore to keep a vigilant eye on newcomers and suspicious persons coming to their streets and muhallas, besides being careful about any unclaimed bag or other goods, which could be used for terrorism. He further said that Jehad against terrorism was our collective responsibility and every citizen has to play an effective role in order to uproot the menace of terrorism.
