Director, Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop, Faizan Peerzada has said that they have requested the government to provide financial assistance for organising Asia's largest performing arts festival which brings together the people, their art and their cultures.
He said that they have written letters to the President, Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab requesting them to support the international event. Only Governor Punjab has shown some interest by writing a letter to the administration of RPTW in which he said that in order to enable the organisers of the World Performing Arts Festival to sustain their efforts, financial assistance to the tune of ten million rupees may be provided to them on compassionate grounds. The event is planned to go ahead in the last week of November.
He was addressing a press conference along Tasneem Peerrzada on Thursday. Faizan hoped that Chief Minister Punjab, President and Prime Minister will show their interest and will provide financial assistance so that this festival which is the biggest cultural event of Lahore will be held successfully.
