NIT to educate investors on capital market investment

National Investment Trust (NIT) will provide all out support for enhancing confidence level among investors, as it is key to stabilise and improve the Capital Market in the country and the CDC road show in Lahore is a step in the same direction. This was stated Chairman, (NIT), Tariq Iqbal Khan, here, on Thursday.
It is pertinent to mention here that NIT is the lead sponsor in supporting the Central Depository Company (CDC) in holding a road show on Capital Market Investment (CMI) to be held on Saturday (tomorrow) in Lahore. Tariq Iqbal Khan said that NIT stabilised the capital market by launching two new funds in the financial year 2008-09, which was considered to be the most difficult years in the history of stock market.
"These funds raised the confidence of the investors and stakeholders and played a key role to boost the economy. "There is dire need of increasing the levels of awareness among common and small investors so that they can not only enhance their earnings, but also play a vital role in stabilising the capital markets" he added.
Hanif Jakhura, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CDC stated that the purpose of these road shows is to appraise potential investors about the benefits and risks of the investment in capital market and to remove misconceptions associated with the stock market investments, he maintained.
He said that these target driven events have now transformed into a platform for the capital market leaders and executives to meet the investors and stakeholders and play a key role in increasing awareness and investment base in the country.
He said that the event would include keynotes and presentations by the eminent speakers from the Capital Market who will speak on the topics of Risks and Opportunities in the Capital Market, the role of Depository while also recapping on the economic outlook he further added. He said that CDC had launched a series of Investment road shows since 2005 in major cities of Pakistan initiating the drive to educate and create awareness of investing in the equity market.
