CDC's road show on Capital Market Investment on October 17

The Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC), in collaboration with National Investment Trust (NIT), is organising an investment and capital market 'road show' on October 17, in Lahore. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the CDC launched a series of Investment road show in 2005 with a vision for wide scale development of the Pakistan Capital Market and to educate investors throughout Pakistan and abroad.
So far, these road shows have been organised in major cities of Pakistan including Sialkot, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, Faisalabad and Gurjanwala and overseas in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London and New York. These target-driven events have now transformed into a platform for the capital market leaders and executives to meet the investors and stakeholders and play a key role in increasing awareness and investment base in the country.
Announcing the event, which is to be held on October 17, 2009 at the PC Hotel, Lahore, Muhammad Hanif Jakhura, CEO, CDC said that the capital market offer unlimited investment opportunities to investors in various sectors but the awareness level of general public about investment through stock market is still very low.
Investors are either not aware of these opportunities or are reluctant to enter into the market due to certain misconception. The purpose of these road shows is to apprise potential investors about the benefits and risks of the investment in capital market and to remove misconceptions associated with stock market investments.
He said that invitations in these road shows are kept free of charge so that large number of people could take advantage of the seminars. The event will include keynotes and presentations by eminent speakers from the Capital Market who will speak on the topics of Risks and Opportunities in the Capital Market, the Role of the Depository while also recapping on the economic outlook.-PR
