Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif gave the police a week to arrest remaining three culprits who kidnapped and tortured two Christians, one of whom Emmanual Masih died. The case was adjourned till October 23.
Chief Justice had taken suo motu notice of the incident and summoned SSP (Operations) and SHO concerned. On Friday SSP appeared before the court and stated that the case against the accused had been lodged at the Islampura police station and out of six accused, three Shahzad, Sikandar and Saqib were arrested and police was searching remaining three.
According to the details news report, Emanuel an employee of city district government was performing his duty in the area of Sandha along with his nephew Irfan Masih. Six persons including Shahzad, Sikandar and Saqib reached there and kidnapped them, alleging that they had stolen tape recorder from their car. They took them to unknown place and tortured Emanuel to death while his nephew was admitted to hospital in critical situation. Police official rushed to the scene and ordered arrest of culprits.
