Shell Pakistan Limited has earned Rs 689.799 million as profit after tax in the first quarter (July-September) of FY10 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 1,195.770 million recorded in the corresponding period in FY09. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Thursday declared that the company has registered earning per share of Rs 10.07 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 17.46 witnessed in the same period last year.
According to the financial results, the company's sales declined to Rs 46.979 billion in this period against Rs 52.355 billion in the same period a year back. The cost of products sold also declined to Rs 37.736 billion against Rs 45.515 billion. The company's before tax profit stood at Rs 1.623 billion in the first quarter of FY10 against before tax loss of Rs 2.130 billion in the same quarter in FY09.
