The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended due date for filing of sales tax and federal excise return for the tax period of September, 2009, up to October 25, 2009. This is subject to the condition that the registered person has made or makes payment of due sales tax and federal excise by October 20, 2009.
According to a sales tax circular 9 of 2009 issued here on Monday, the board has extended the due date for filing of return for the tax period of September 2009, up to October 25, 2009 provided that the registered person has made or makes payment by October 20. The FBR has implemented the decision in exercise of the powers conferred under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005.
