CJP administers oath to newly appointed Supreme Court judges

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry here on Tuesday administered oath to two newly appointed Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in a simple but dignified ceremony. CJP administered oath to Justice Tariq Parvaiz and Justice Ghulam Rabbani, as Judges of the Supreme Court. Justice Tariq Parvaiz, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, was elevated to Supreme Court, while Justice Ghulam Rabbani was appointed as ad hoc Judge.
Supreme Court Judges, Chief Election Commissioner, Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court, Director General Federal Judicial Academy, Secretary Ministry of Law, Law officers of the Court and Justice Commission of Pakistan and representatives of Bar and prominent lawyers attended the ceremony. Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court conducted proceedings of the ceremony.
