Kyrgyz Republic Ambassador to Pakistan Bektur Asanov has said that Kyrgyz Republic is making strenuous efforts for strengthening economic co-operation with Pakistan on priority basis. Addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Tuesday he said that Kyrgyz and Pakistan have inked eight agreements in the area of economic co-operation which would provide base for making business and enhancing investment in Kyrgyz Republic.
"It is high time that Kyrgyz and Pakistan should utilise the advantage of being the members of World Trade Organisation (WTO) in booting the trade volume between the two countries," he said. The Ambassador on this occasion informed the house, "We are planning to organise an exhibition of Pakistani products by the end of November 2009 in Bishkek."
He urged the business community of Sialkot that they should participate in the exhibition, which would certainly help explore the market of Kyrgyz Republic. The Ambassador also called upon the business community of Pakistan that they should extend full support and assistance to Kyrgyz businessmen enabling them to open their business in Pakistan.
He said that the public and private sectors have joined hands to upgrade the investment adding that those investors who are looking to maximise profit and minimise risk for them avenues for investment are open in Kyrgyz Republic. As the Republic ensures the liberal trade regime, full protection of investments and unlimited repatriation of profit, currency exchange freedom, low business costs an educated workforce and direct access to state authorities, he added.
The Ambassador further said, "We are Kyrgyz-Pakistani Business Council and it is expected the business delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) would visit Kyrgyz shortly. In his welcome address President SCCI Muhammad Ishaq Butt said there was tremendous scope of trade in textile, leather, sports goods and surgical instruments between Pakistan and Kyrgyz Republic, adding that there was a great need of promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries.
