The embassy of Argentina is going to organise a painting exhibition from today (Thursday) in an effort to express solidarity with the people of Pakistan and to give a message of peace and harmony keeping in view the deteriorating security situation in the country. This is the second Argentine painting exhibition in Pakistan depicting the various dimensions of the Argentinean culture and historical background.
"We are hopeful that the painting exhibition will further strengthen our cultural ties with Pakistan", said the Argentine Ambassador to Pakistan Rodolfo J. Martin-Saravia while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
Two of the Argentine artists, Maria Martha Pichel and Marcela de Estrada were also present on the occasion. The six-day exhibition will continue till Tuesday. Sharing details the ambassador said that in this exhibition 14 contemporary Argentine artists will display more than 45 paintings. He said that after Islamabad, the Argentine embassy has planned to take the exhibition to the city of Lahore considering it a core of Pakistani culture.
He further said that the embassy was interested to exhibit the paintings in Karachi too but due to some limited resources and other reasons it would not be possible. He further said that to make this exhibition successful, the embassy of Argentine has received the generous support and sponsorship from the Pak-Argentine Joint Venture BF-Biosciences Limited, a leading bio-technological pharmaceutical company based in Lahore, and from Parthenon General Contractors.
