One new case of polio has been confirmed in Swat area Koza Bandi on Wednesday. According to a private news channel, quoting sources from the Health Department, confirmed that Mohammad Ibrahim, two years of age, has been tested positive for the poliovirus. This brings the total number of new cases this year in Swat to 14.
The polio campaign has been unsuccessful for the last two years in the region because of security concerns. Health officials have warned that more cases will surface in the coming days.
