The government needs to develop a database of the students studying abroad in different countries so as this could become a resource for the students intending to go abroad for higher education. Abrar Hussain chief executive officer 'Dignosco' a students consultancy firm stated this while talking to Business Recorder here on Wednesday.
Most of the students are living abroad in isolation and have no interaction with one another. If a database is developed, it would not only help increase interaction among them but also would provide useful guidance for new students, he said. Unfortunately, we have only a few institutes that impart good quality of education, which indeed could not accommodate majority of the students.
Most of the students, even after securing over 80 percent marks could not take admission in the medical or engineering colleges mainly because of inadequate number of institutes. As a result, the students who can afford expenses of foreign education have to go abroad for higher study in medical, engineering or business management disciplines.
Similarly, the number of students who get free scholarships in renowned institutes abroad is also invisible, he added. He stressed the need for setting up more medical, engineering, information technology, and accountancy institutes in the country besides improving the standard of existing colleges, which would help save precious foreign exchange.
