LAHORE: Pakistan and World XI along with former cricketer will attend a farewell ceremony in honour of legends Misbahul Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi today (Thursday).
The ceremony is arranged by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to honor ex-captains Misbah, Shahid Afridi and Younis to acknowledge their contributions for Pakistan.
On the other hand, the leading run-scorer for Pakistan in Tests Younis Khan has refused to attend the farewell gathering.
The legendary batsman took to Twitter and said, “It’s official I will not attend a farewell reception being hosted by PCB for me, Misbah & Shahid Afridi next week.”
“What is the use of this farewell now from Pakistan Cricket Board after Misbah & I retired back in May!”
“I’ve decided not to go to the farewell as what I’ve seen in PCB or have gone through when I was playing isn’t something I can forget!!!”
The event will however be held according to the plan. The final match of the Independence Cup, which has turned out to be the series decider, will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium tomorrow at 07:00PM.
