High courts, subordinate courts should also be free from corruption: Kurd

President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Ali Ahmad Kurd said our judicial system did not revolve around the Supreme Court only but the high courts and subordinate courts are real backbone of the judiciary, which spoke volume of corruption and it should also be free from corruption.
He was talking to media in Lahore High Court Bar Association on Saturday before conducting annual meeting of SCBA general house. Kurd said if the judges sitting in courts would not dispense justice the lawyers could launch movement against them like they did for the restoration of judiciary.
Lauding the movement of lawyers for restoration of judiciary, he said, the legal fraternity has given a new life to the country and added lawyers movement would continue till the end of injustice and corruption from the country.
President SCBA said that he served the bar honestly and sincerely as the community had reposed its confidence on him by electing to the office. He said that his cabinet increased the fund of the bar from 100 million to 130 million, which was a great achievement. Later, the general house meeting of the bar approved annual budget of the bar.
