Bearish trend was seen on the wholesale grain and seed markets on Wednesday, as supply was good but demand was slow by the exporters, dealers said. On the rice side Basmati No 386 new inferior type lost Rs 400 to Rs 2800 and best type also followed the same track, losing Rs 300 to Rs 3000.
Sela Basmati, low type in sympathy also dropped by Rs 200 to Rs 4800 and good type was sharply down by Rs 400 to Rs 5000. Irri-6 Sindh low type slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 2250 and best type lost Rs 50 to Rs 2300, Irri-9 Sindh inferior type fell by Rs 500 to Rs 2500 and best type dropped by Rs 200 to Rs 3000 on slackened demand by the exporters, they said.
On the grams side guwar Sindh low type lost Rs 200 to Rs 3200 and best type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 3400, other items did not show any change in subdued trading, they said. On the seed side til low lost Rs 300 to Rs 3000 while the superior type did not show any change in process of trading at Rs 3600, they said.
