The Institute of Plant Sciences, University of Sindh organised a walk against climate change at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui led the walk. A large number of teachers and students from Applied Geology, Chemistry, Geography and Statistics participated in the walk, which started from the Institute of Plant Sciences.
The students were carrying placards, posters and banners inscribed with slogans against climate change. The vice chancellor while speaking on the occasion said that mostly developed countries were responsible for climate change. Over the last many years the earth is getting warmer due to the burning of the fossil fuel, which has increased the level of CO2 in the atmosphere. He said that the university would continue its efforts for creating awareness about climate change among the masses. The Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Dr Tahir Rajput and others also expressed their views on climate change.
