Indonesian shares closed 1.01 percent higher Friday thanks to gains in Wall Street and a stronger rupiah, dealers said. The Jakarta Composite Index rose 23.67 points to 2,367.70. Coal miner Indo Tambangraya Megah rose 9.1 percent to 22,750 rupiah, while rival Bukit Asam gained 2.7 percent to 15,200 rupiah on higher commodity prices. Bank Mandiri climbed 2.2 percent to 4,700 rupiah. The rupiah closed at 9,590 to the dollar compared to 9,610 at the last close.
