The Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI) was providing skill development training to over 700 employees every year in different disciplines from the public and private sector.
The training programmers are arranged with the objectives of providing human resource research services to the government departments, public corporation and private establishments that can contribute in the development of country, Director PMI Muhammad Azam said on Sunday.
He told APP that the institution works to stimulate interest in human resource problems generally and to co-operate with and assist other human resources research agencies, institutions or professional associations.
During its various programmers, the PMI imparts training to 35 to 40 people selected from different departments in each course while the regular courses are offered over 20 times in a year.
Besides, these Human Resource Development and Management courses, the PMI also holds seminars, workshops for the employees and introduces latest short computer courses for the improvement in skill development of people, he said.
"These efforts can bring a substantial change in improving the professional skills of people with proper training and changing the living standard of those working in different fields," he remarked.
