The 6th National Housing and Population Census is likely to be started from the next month as the Population Census Organisation has made all preparations in this regard. "The Population Census Organisation (PCO) has made all preparations for conducting the census and waits for approval of launching the process from the federal government," Chief Publication Officer PCO, Muhammad Anwar Shahid told APP.
He said that the census regarding holding of census next month would be taken after the meeting of the Inter-provincial Co-ordination Committee which is likely to meet soon. The Population Census Organisation of the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) has established about 403 Census Districts, comprising 146,000 blocks, all across the country to conduct 6th Population and Housing Census in the country during the current year.
To a question regarding the establishment of National Bureau of Statistics, Anwar Shahid said that the PCO would merge in the bureau after conducting the national census. "We have to do great job of holding census in the country and after this the PCO would be formally merged in the National Bureau of Statistics."
