Operation Rah-e-Nijat: forces secure key ridges, kill 19 terrorists in South Waziristan

Security forces have captured many important ridges in South Waziristan Agency and killed 19 terrorists during the ongoing military assault against terrorists in 'Operation Rah-e-Nijat', while forces have arrested 21 terrorists in 'Operation Rah-e-Raast' in Malakand whereas ten terrorists have surrendered to the security forces.
A huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was recovered in both South Waziristan Agency and Malakand division during the operation, a spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
He said that during the sanitization in Jandola - Sararogha Axis, the security forces have neutralised huge number of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the operation and killed sixteen terrorists. While one soldier was martyred and another injured due to mine explosion, he added. He said that forces have also arrested two suspected terrorists from the area.
He said that the security forces have completely secured Kaniguram area in Shakai - Kaniguram Axis and have started search and clearance operation. He said that during the search operation forces have recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosive from different compounds. Terrorists have fired six rockets at Kaniguram but no loss of life was reported, he added.
The spokesman said that the security forces are also extending their hold to the adjoining ridges. Sanitization of Ghani Khel and surrounding area has commenced during which three terrorists have been killed. Village China has been completely secured by security forces and area up to Mian Nur Khel has also been secured in the Razmak- Makeen Axis and forces are consolidating their positions in this area, the spokesman said.
He said that the security forces also secured the area up to south of Manza Sar Top and are consolidating their positions in this area. Terrorists have attacked the security forces with small arms and two rockets from northern direction near Razmak check post, he said, adding that no loss was reported.
He said that one soldier was injured near Chashmai Bridge during the process of neutralising an IED. He said that during the 'Operation Rah-e-Raast' in Malakand division, 21 suspected terrorists have been arrested from different areas of Swat and 10 terrorists have voluntarily surrendered.
He said that during search operation at Cham, two SMGs with two magazines, one pistol and five grenades have been recovered. During the search operation at Peochar valley and surrounding area forces have recovered one small machine gun with 7 magazines and 600 rounds, one rifle 303 with 5 magazines and 210 rounds, four grenade, one light machine gun, one I Communication Set, four candolier, three camouflage jackets, two rifles 8 mm, one rifle 12 bore, two SSG uniforms, one Russian ATM, he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has established free medical camps at Mir Ali, Razmak, Miran Shah and Village Gurbez of North Waziristan Agency (NWA). Specialist doctors of Army Medical Corps including lady doctors, eye specialists, medical specialists, child specialists and surgeons provided necessary treatment to the patients.
So far a total of 1,650 patients including women and children have been treated. The importance of these camps increases manifold in the back drop of Operation Rah-e-Nijat as army is trying to provide help and relief to the local population at places like Mir Ali and Razmak. Free Medical Camps are routinely held by army in far flung areas of NWA. Local population of the area appreciated the efforts made by Security Forces to help people through these measures.
