Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti here, on Tuesday, said that the government would soon finalise special laws for the trial of terrorist elements. In a press conference held here at Chief Minister's House, he said that the draft legislation has been sent to the Law Division of the Ministry of Law and would be implemented in letter and spirit after approval.
All preparations in this regard, he said, have been completed and after the promulgation of the law, cases would be referred to the courts to be established under the new law. To a question, he said that some terrorists who were involved in the deadly incident of Meena Bazaar have already been arrested.
However, he declined to disclose their identity till the arrest of the all suspected accused, but he promised that the government would soon share information with the media. He said that due to improvement in the security measures militants have changed their strategy and now they have started striking common men, instead of targeting security personnel.
The objective behind targeting the common men is to demoralise them. Moreover, he said that the whole nation knows who is behind the terrorist activities. However, the chief minister did not rule out the possibility of the involvement of foreign hand in the terrorist activities. Score of suspects, who involved in terrorist activities, have been arrested from the different parts of the province, particularly from Malakand Division.
