Sindh's Minister for Health, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, while visiting the health camp set up by CBM Society of health managers, said that free vaccination drive for Hepatitis has become a phenomenon and that students, faculty and management of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) have also been offered this facility.
CBM Society of Health Managers, which is a representative body of the MBA Health Management Programme at IoBM, organised at IoBM premises under the vision of Health, Happiness and Hope', says a press release of the Public Affairs Section of the Institute. Each stall at the camp featured different aspects of health care with free awareness, assessment, consultations and referrals.
The thematic segments included free eye check-up and consultation, eudiometry test, dermatology consultations and referrals, dental check up and referrals, hepatitis awareness and screening, diabetes awareness and screening, blood grouping and thalassemia screening, bone densitometry and check up, personal hygiene and cleanliness, awareness on body fitness and diet.
Various exciting competitions and games were also incorporated into each stall to keep the audience involved. The team CSHM, which is a combination of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, biomedical engineers and other allied health care professionals, intend to conduct more such programmes as part of their corporate social responsibility to create benchmark standards of organising efforts in health care awareness and assessment for other institutions.
Dr Sagheer Ahmed praised the efforts and hard work of Health Management students to bring forth a programme of such high magnitude. Shah Jehan Karim, President, IoBM, Ms Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director Administration, IoBM and Mr Talib Karim, Executive Director Academics, Business Support Center, IoBM were also present to embellish the occasion.
Under the vision of Dr Asima Faisal, Faculty Adviser and Head of Department, MBA Health Management Programme, the event was entitled as the CSHM Health FUNGAMA, where for the first time in a business school a health camp with an element of fun and games were incorporated to educate and entertain the visitors.-PR
