The third international power generation conference & exhibition (POWERGEN PAK 2009) will be held on November 19, with the theme 'Power Efficiency: Up-gradation & Self-Reliance" at a local hotel in Islamabad. Chief Organiser, Power Gen Pak Naeem Qureshi told APP that the conference will provide networking and business opportunities exclusively designed for power generation through hydro, coal, nuclear, renewable, thermal, and fossil fuels, and allied industries.
The event, being organised by ENERGY UPDATE will offer interactive conference and exhibition; enabling local and international producers, suppliers, distributors, marketers and users to talk on latest advancements being adopted and utilised world-wide especially in Asia Pacific Region.
Federal Minister for Water & Power Raja Pervez Ashraf will be the chief guest on the occasion and Secretary Ministry of Water & Power, Iqbal Z. Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Power Resources, Tahir Basharat Cheema, MD PEPCO, Arif Allauddin Chief Executive Alternate Energy Development Board, Kalim Siddiqui, President, Bosicor Pakistan, and high officials from NEPRA, PPIB & independent power producers would deliver their speeches.
The speakers would focus on power crises, problems & solutions, future targets, strategies, technological development & advancement, plan of action on energy efficiency conservation and management, impact of environment and carbon credits vis-a-vis impact on economic growth and development in the country. Meanwhile, a special session on coal energy and renewable energy will also be held on the occasion.
