The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday asked interior ministry and IG police Islamabad to respond on the petition seeking direction for registration of criminal cases against American and Dutch nationals who were caught red-handed in anti-state activities but released on the pressure of high authorities.
The court passed these orders on a petition filed by Hasham Shaukat Khan, President Pakistan Watan Party, Punjab chapter Hasham Shaukat who through their counsel Barrister Zafar ullah said American and Dutch nationals were roaming around in the country with heavy weapons and beating the local people.
He said culprits of all the incidents were freed as no action was taken against them for violating the law of the land. He pointed out that 200 members of Black Water landed in Islamabad airport through PIA flight but interior minister on the American pressure let them in without going through process of custom clearance. He said these people should be charged against violation of anti-terrorism laws.
He said even under constitution of Pakistan and article 29 of the Vienna Convention 1961 the diplomats did not enjoy any immunity for criminal activities rather they should be ousted from the country after declaring their "Persona non grata". He requested that list of all Americans and Dutch who were working in Pakistan, including workers of both the embassies and security staff should be brought to the notice of the court.
