The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday constituted a three-member committee to resolve the issue of blocking Queens Road, Lahore in front of CCPO office, due to security reasons. Acting Advocate General Punjab Muhammad Hanif Khatana will head the committee while CCPO Lahore and IGP are other members. The committee has been directed to hear the grievance of all traders and owners of buildings and come up with an acceptable solution.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by Inayat Ali, Manager of Plaza Cinema, located in front of the CCPO office. He said road from his office to the Rescue 15 building had been closed and a wall was also being erected in front of office on the road. He submitted that on the pretext of security, law enforcement agencies had not only closed the roads leading to cinema but a wall was also being erected to restrict public movement in the area.
