Jordan has given recognition to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, says a spokesman of the University here on Friday. In a letter to the registrar of the UVAS, the Cultural Counsellor in the Embassy of Jordan in Islamabad said.
"I feel immense pleasure to inform you that the Higher Council for Recognition of Higher Educational Institutions in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Amman, has decided to recognise the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore."
The letter further said that Jordan desired to maintain and further strengthen the cordial relations between the two countries, especially in the field of higher education. The spokesman said that the UVAS is presently offering DVM, BS (Hons) in applied microbiology, fisheries and aquaculture, poultry sciences, dairy technology and biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Pharm-D, MBA in Life Sciences and Mphil and PhD programmes in over 20 disciplines.
