Developmental schemes: 'use of sub-standard material in construction will not be tolerated'

NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has warned that use of substandard material in construction work of developmental schemes would not be tolerated and the provincial government can't bear the loss to national resources. He expressed these views while talking with different delegations here at his office on Friday.
Members of the delegations apprised him about the progress and the problems confronting in developmental projects of their respective areas. He said that people of the province are fighting insurgency and terrorism and the change in priorities of the government in such circumstances is a natural phenomenon.
The government has priorities the establishment of peace, however, good governance and looking at ongoing development schemes are also its responsibilities in order to ensure its timely completion as per aspirations of the people, Hoti contended. The Chief Minister also appealed the general public to monitor the construction work and point out any deficiency in this regard without any fear.
Referring to security situation, he said that a package worth Rs 23 billion for the security of Peshawar and Western districts has been presented to the Prime Minister which will soon be approved. Moreover, regarding the rehabilitation of the economic activities, the Chief Minister said that efforts are underway for declaring the province war torn which will not only compensate the loses due to terrorism but will rehabilitate construction and development in the province.
