Redressing citizens' grievances and providing them civic facilities is the basic responsibility of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for which it should make all out efforts to come up to the expectations of the citizens.
This was stated by the Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, while addressing the meeting held at the CDA Headquarters to finalise the formation of Chairman's Task Force to be deployed in each 'Markaz' (Commercial Centre) of Islamabad.
The Authority has constituted Chairman's Task Force with the view to redressing problems, relating to different Marakiz of the Federal Capital through close co-ordination and regular liaison with the representatives of trader's welfare associations and the consumers.
The market co-ordinators are being deputed in all the Marakiz of the city, who will remain present in the Marakiz from 10:00 am to 4:00pm to note down and report the issues, regarding the respective Markaz. Each co-ordinator at his respective Markaz will visit the Markaz along with the representative of the traders, on daily basis and would identify the problems.
These issues would especially pertain to street lights, cleanliness/littering, public toilets, encroachments, sewerage, over flowing gutters, repair/ maintenance of footpaths & roads, parking areas, water leakages and illegal constructions. The co-ordinators would be headed by an in charge of the task force. In the first phase, the co-ordinators are being deployed in Markaz but later on, each market will be having same system in place.
The complaints/reports gathered on the spot would be reported to the focal persons appointed by different formations of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The unattended complaints would be reported to the Chief Complaint Officer and Deputy Director Public Relations on daily basis that would co-ordinate with the heads of the concerned formations for addressing of such complaints. The Director Staff of the Chairman CDA would be heading the task force and would report to the Chairman for the issues unresolved.
Addressing the market co-ordinators and the focal persons designated by concerned formations, the Chairman CDA said that Islamabad has a green character, which has to be protected at all cost. He said that the constitution of the task force and deputing the market co-ordinators would ensure effective monitoring and supervision of day to day affairs/issues and help reduce the peoples' problems.-PR
