Crackdown against comfort houses for terrorists ordered

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has ordered a crackdown against motels, guesthouses, and inns serving as comfort houses for the criminals saying that brothel houses in Lahore have become dens of terrorists.
While presiding over a high-level meeting at Capital City Police Headquarters, he stated that there was strong evidence of such premises being used by terrorists in some incidents. He also ordered the Divisional SPs, DSPs and SHOs, to dovetail the raids with periodic checking of activities taking place in these premises. Any premises found wanting in record keeping of the guest will be proceeded against and sealed under the relevant provision of the law, he said in a clear tone.
CCPO ordered Lahore Police to launch immediate crackdown against as many as 445 brothel houses and their owners under the Anti Terrorism Act. He said, after deputing secret police in civvies and observing activities going on in these brothel houses and tracing their phone calls, it has been proved beyond doubt that these brothel houses have become dens of all heinous crimes, including terrorism, where planning was carried out to put law and order of the city in jeopardy.
CCPO said that, according to general impression, these brothel houses in the city were operational in full knowledge of local police, and many policemen extend their patronage and co-operation to their owners. CCPO warned that strict legal action would also be taken against these black sheep of Police department under the Anti Terrorism Act.
On the directive of Capital City Police Officer, Muhammad Pervez Rathore, Lahore Police has pinpointed as many as 445 brothel houses in the city. According to facts and figures, 128 brothel houses are located in Model Town Division, 96 in Sadar Division, 75 in City Division, 52 in Iqbal Town Division, 52 in Civil Division, while 42 brothel houses are located in Cantt Division.
