Provincial Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi should not forget his own track record before criticising present Punjab government on the issue of sugar crisis. In a statement, the provincial minister said that the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to ensure availability of sugar to the common men at the fixed rate are being recognised by the masses.
He said even the highest judicial forum like Supreme Court has also appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government in this regard. He said that people could never forget who were in the power in 2006 when the worst sugar scandal had been surfaced.
He said that Pervaiz's statement is a part of the campaign under which he has held the Punjab government responsible, without any justification, for negligence in the procurement of rice. Rana Sanaullah further said that in the last wheat procurement campaign, it has become clear to the people as to who is well-wisher of small farmers and who has protected the interests of commission mafia and middlemen.
