Minister condemns Peshawar blast

Federal Population Welfare Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has strongly condemned the suicide blast at a police check post in Peshawar on Monday, which resulted in the loss of precious lives while terming the perpetrator of the attack as enemies of Islam.
Talking to reporters she said that government was working on multidimensional strategy for eliminating the militancy, extremism and terrorism from the grassroots levels. With active co-operation and support of the masses the menace of terrorism would be rooted out and country would be made a safe heaven, she said. The Federal Minister further said motive of these elements was to destabilise and weaken the country through terrorist activities.
The terrorists were looking for safe passage for escape but they would be hunted in every nook and corner and dealt with iron hands, she said. On this occasion Dr Firdous lauded the daring efforts of armed forces for fulfilling its responsibilities in combating with the menace of terrorism adding that whole nation is on the back of the forces.
