Iran freed on Tuesday a Danish journalism student arrested last week on the sidelines of anti-government demonstrations in Tehran, the capital's chief prosecutor was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying. "The Danish citizen arrested on the sidelines of illegal demonstrations has been freed," Abbas Jaffari Doulatabadi said.
"After completion of the investigation, the examining judge ordered the liberation of the accused and, after the approval of the prosecutor, this order was transmitted to Evin prison," he added. Niels Krogsgaard had been in custody since his arrest on November 4 near a demonstration on the 30th anniversary of the storming of the US embassy in the city.
