A three-day south Punjab Expo commenced in Inzamam-ul-Haq Cricket Stadium here on Friday. The expo has been organised by Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI) and would continue from 13 to 15 November 2009. President WCCI, Anila Iftikhar said on this occasion that this is the first exhibition of this type in this region and large number of women participants has taken part.
There are 108 stalls staged in the expo including embroidery, artificial jewellery, furniture, handicrafts and fabrics. President WCCI hoped that the expo would help the businesswomen launch their products in the international market. Any businesswoman having a NTN number can become the member of WCCI to expand her business and WCCI would fully support her in this regard, she added.
She further informed that at the expo, a large number of students of Arts College have taken part to make this event a successful one. She said that the expo would help promote the culture of Southern Punjab. She thanked Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, on this occasion, for taking special interest and providing funds to establish the WCCI.
