Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan has embarked upon an extensive tour of different areas of the country to ensure timely completion of important national highway projects. According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the Federal Minister reached Multan on the first leg of his tour through N-70. On his way, Arbab Alamgir inspected under construction highways at Kuchlak, Khanuzai, Muslim Bagh, Qilla Siafullah, Loralai, Maikhtar, Rakhi and Dera Ghazi.
Chairman, National Highway Authority (NHA), Altaf Ahmad Chaudhry and other high officials also accompanied him. The Federal Minister urged the consultants and contractors of the project to complete the ongoing projects in time. He said that neither substandard material nor negligence of any sort would be tolerated. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan said that the present democratic government under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is determined to bring progress and prosperity to the nation.
He said that timely completion of under construction highways is indispensable for speedy development in Sindh, Punjab, Frontier and Balochistan through which capacity of trade, tourism, industry and agriculture sectors of the country would be boosted.
Making it clear to the staff working on these projects, he said that the government has promised the people of respective areas to complete these projects within the stipulated period and we will fulfil our promises at all costs. The Federal Minister said that the President and Prime Minister want urgent completion of the under construction highways of Balochistan and Multan and Sindh.
