Parachinar Airport named after Shaheed Benazir Bhutto

In recognition of the services of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for Kurram Agency, Parachinar Airport was Saturday formally named as Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Airport. In this connection, a grand ceremony was held where Secretary PPP, FATA, Hamid Toori formally announced the decision of changing the name.
Speaking on this occasion, Hamid Toori, while recalling the services of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, said that she rendered great services for the country in general and for the people of Kurram Agency in particular. He said she was the first to announce passenger flights from Parachinar.
He said Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his daughter took matchless steps for the overall development of FATA, including the Kurram Agency developments in health and education sectors, which is still remembered by the people of FATA. He pointed that due to terrorist activities in the area, the people of Kurram Agency are facing difficulties while travelling to other parts of the country.
The people are using long rout via Afghanistan to reach at their desired destination, therefore, by starting passenger flights from the airport, would solve their genuine demand and would certainly be of relief to them.
Toori affirmed that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Airport in Parachinar is in good condition and there would be no difficulties for the government to announce passenger flights. He also demanded of the government to announce starting of the passenger flights again, besides announcing fund for the renovation of the said airport.
On this occasion, PPP Kurram Agency congratulated Bilawal Zardari Bhuto, Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani for remarkable victory of PPP in Gilgit-Baltistan election. They also congratulated PPP nominees who won election in the area.
