Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 219,333 tonnes of cargo including 147,556 tonnes import and 71,777 tonnes export cargo including 5,692 empty and loaded containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The cargo comprised of 184,133 tonnes dry cargo including 121,334 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 21,604 tonnes DAP; 2,265 tonnes oil cake meals; 3,426 tonnes sugar; 13,000 tonnes coal; 5,448 tonnes rice; 17,056 tonnes cement and 35,200 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Raysut-1, TS Jakarta, Heike P, MSC Aurelie, OEL Trust, Abtin-1, APL Sokhna, Uni-Promote, Mare Internum, Atlanta, Abby-G and Oriental Tulip sailed out to sea during the report period. Fifteen vessels viz Queen Arrow-II, Ocean Host, APL Sokhna, OEL Trust, Mare Internum, Uni-Promote, Olympia, Dorain, YM Asia, Bunga Raya Doa, Qatari Ibn Al Fuja'a, Brother Glory, Deren Pioneer, Oriental Tulip and Quetta are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Bunga Raya Doa and Qatari Ibn Al Fuja'a expected to sail on Monday, while another three vessels viz Quetta, Azuma Pioneer and YM Asia are expected to sail on Tuesday. Three vessels viz Al-Marwah, APL Pusan and Sima Sahba due to arrive on Monday, while another three ships namely MT Johar, Al-Aqeela-II and BBC Halil Sahin are due to arrive on Tuesday.

A total of ten vessels viz Maersk Iowa, Al-Sabahia, Stena Chronos, Sound Proodos, BMC Genests, AG Ecaterini, Oriental Express, Alexi-1, Sun rise 89 and Surreal scheduled to load/offload containers, diesel oil, rapeseeds, rice and cement are currently at the outer anchorage. Six ships namely MV Multan, MV Angelia, MV Coral, MV Frauke, MT SC Qingdao and MV Alpha Harmony are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, project cargo, palm oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Iowa, CV Al-Sabahia and MT Stena Chronos carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Monday Oil tanker Al-Soor-II due to arrive on Monday, while a container ship namely Nedlloyed Africa is due to arrive on Tuesday. Eight ships namely ACX Rafflesia, CMA CGM Azure, Katharina, Aqua Grace, Fakonia, SC Elemen, Tong List and Kalliopil with containers, cement, live-stocks, palm oil, diesel oil, iron ore and coal are expected to arrive.
