NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani said on Wednesday that the motherland was faced with a big challenge, which is being successfully overcome and we will control it in next few months. He was talking to a group of students from University of Peshawar at Governor's House here who had come to donate blood for the injured of the recent terrorist incidents in the provincial metropolitan.
As many as 100 students, hailing from Khyber Law College, Economic, Social Welfare and Sociology departments of the University donated their blood on this occasion. It is worth mentioning that it was the fourth camp of its nature, which have been arranged by Begum Governor in three weeks time and 30, 35 and 19 students had participated in the earlier camps, respectively.
The Governor highly eulogised the spirit and enthusiasm of the students and said, "Pakistanis are unique Nation; its nationality is based on Islamic Ideology and Islam is its identity". It, he added, is the sole atomic power amongst the entire Islamic World, which itself is another sole identity of this Nation, which itself are the important causes of the challenges, being confronted by it.
History is testimony to the fact, the Governor said, internal conflicts and differences have always been the root causes of reversals and degradations of nations. There may be weaknesses in our way of working as well but the process of reforms is also continuing side by side and a prosperous future waits for this Nation and the Country, he remarked.
In this connection, he particularly mentioned activities of militants and said, no doubt certain figures are the agents of anti-state elements but majority of them are ignorant and un-aware of the nefarious motives of their mentors and thus strengthening the hands of the enemies of the country.
Ghani said, though we are a very young nation yet we have the capability to meet challenges and opening of doors by ordinary citizens for almost 1.8 million internally dislocated persons of Malakand Division is one such example of this reality, while only 0.2 million dislocated people could be extended care through arrangements of the government.
He said, officers and jawans of our security forces are taking lead from each other in offering sacrifices for security of the nation and the country and Inshaullah we will succeed in meeting the challenges. Appreciating the enthusiasm of the participants of the camp, the Governor said, the event is arranged, keeping in view of need of blood for the injured being treated in different local hospitals and the process will be continued in future as well, whenever required.
Begum Governor while talking to media persons said that a number of injured personnel of armed forces, police and other security agencies, besides common citizens are under treatment in different local hospitals especially Combined Military Hospital, Lady Reading Hospital and Khyber Teaching Hospital and the camps are arranged to meet requirement of blood for them.
