Commission formed to monitor security of educational institutions

On the directive of Punjab government, district security commission has been constituted for co-ordinating and monitoring the security arrangements at educational institutions in the district. The commission would comprise of representatives of educational institutions falling in category A-I and A, and officials of education department and district administration.
The commission was constituted during a meeting, which held here with DCO Saeed Wahlah in the chair, to review implementation of the directives regarding security arrangements by the Punjab government. EDO Education Kishwar Naheed Rana, DOC Liaqat Ali Chatha, District Manager 1122 Mina Riffat Zia, DO Civil Defence Riasat Ali Khan and the representatives of various public and private institutions attended the meeting.
The DCO urged the heads of educational institutions to complete security arrangements in all respect in their respective institutions to avoid any untoward incident. He warned that educational instructions falling in category A-I and A would be closed down if the specified security arrangements were not made.
He said that the guards to be hired by the educational institutions would be trained on scientific lines by the management of elite force. The DCO informed the participants that mock exercise would also be conducted at any time without intimation in order to check the security arrangements and reaction of the emergency services departments and representatives of Punjab government would monitor and supervise the mock exercise.
Earlier, the DCO presided over a meeting of District Monitoring Committee to review security of Chinese working/residing in the district. CPO Muhammad Tahir and representatives of other law enforcement agencies were also present in the meeting.
