We are ready to face cases: Dr Farooq

22 Nov, 2009

Deputy Convenor, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee, Dr Farooq Sattar on Saturday said that no leader or activist of his party is involved in a single case of corruption. Addressing a press conference at Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall, Azizabad here, Dr Farooq Sattar said the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), is contradictory to the manifesto of his party and it is also against the aspirations of the people.
He said we are not afraid of the NRO and the party leaders as well as activists are ready to face any case before the courts. He maintained that more than 10,000 criminal cases had been instituted against the MQM and all of those are politically motivated.
Dr Farooq Sattar was of the view that the criminal cases registered against MQM were a matter of political vendetta and majority of the cases were lodged during 1992. The MQM leaders and workers suffered imprisonment's and faced courts but never approached any other forum than the courts of law for relief, the MQM leader said.
He said the cases against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain were made in-absentia while he (Altaf Hussain) was out of the country and all cases too were politically motivated. He said the MQM had always followed its principles and it never compromised on the same.
