LRH gets additional grant of Rs 41.48 million

NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has approved an additional grant of Rs 41.486 million for Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar to make the hospital capable of tackling the mass emergencies in a better manner. The hospital is the largest health facility in the province situated at the heart of the provincial metropolis.
The victims of the current wave of terrorism in the province are brought to the mass causality of the hospital. The Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti also approved the upgradation of Government Degree College Matta to postgraduate level and renamed it after the name of veteran politician Afzal Khan Lala.
The college will now be called as Afzal Khan Lalal Post Graduate College, Matta. It is worth mentioning here that Tehsil Matta, Swat remained hot bed of insurgency and the people of the areas had fallen in control of militants and suffered heavy losses in men and materials. The chief minister has announced the up-gradation and renaming the aforementioned college on his visit to Matta on 13th October, 2009.
