Sindh University conducts pre-entry test

Sindh University (SU) on Sunday conducted pre-entry test for admissions to first batch on new Sindh University Campus in Mirpurkhas. The test was conducted by Sindh University Testing Centre (SUTC) on the University's campus in Mirpurkhas.
Total 435 candidates, 366 male and 69 female submitted admission forms for the admission to five disciplines, ie, Commerce, Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS) and Geology The University Authorities issued admit cards to 432 eligible candidates, including 363 male and 69 female students, while 415 candidates appeared in the test and 17 candidates were absent.
Total 12 examination blocks were set up on the Campus, which were interconnected with control room and a very sophisticated sound system. After recitation from the holy Qura'an, the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui inspected the arrangements and welcomed the candidates.
Speaking on the occasion the Vice Chancellor said that the main purpose of opening the Campus in Mirpurkhas is to ensure provision of higher education with quality to the girls mainly of remote areas of four districts of Mirpukhas division.
He said that parents of girls from Mirpurkhas were looking for facilities of higher education and added that the University actualised their dreams by opening of Campus to provide higher education at their doorsteps. He hoped that the University has not increased an admission fee considering difficulty to the poor parents of the area.
He said that he has directed the Pro Vice-Chancellor that all possible efforts should be made for quality of education, which include daily attendance, regular classes and proper laboratory work. The vice-chancellor also visited all examination blocks and inspected arrangements. Speaking with journalists he said that University's emphasis is to provide quality education and promote girls' education on this campus.
He added that with this campus hopefully a large number of girls for higher education would be encouraged. He said that the responsibility also lies on the shoulders of the stakeholders, local people and civil society to help the University in its aims of quality of higher education and also promotion of girl's education in this region.
The vice chancellor while talking with the groups of students said that the university would not compromise on providing quality education and rules and regulation for regular attendance and regular classes will also be strictly followed.
He appreciated youth and said that it is social and moral duty of every one of the area to help the management of this campus for its success. Earlier, addressing the students Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Campus, Mirpurkhas, Dr Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, said, "Today is historical day in starting of academic activity initiated with entry test for admissions to the first academic session of this campus."
The Deans of the faculties Dr Anwar Ali Shah, Dr Muhammad Tahir Rajput, Dr Abdullah Dayo, Dr Muhammad Qasim Bughio, Dr Sanaullah Bhutto, members of syndicate Khalid Noor Panhwar, Intizar Lashari , Registrar of the University.
Muhammad Saleh Rajar, Director Sindh University Testing Centre Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon, Dr Muhammad Salem Chandio, Director Admissions Noor Ahmed Bhatti were also present on the occasion. Dr Marhab Qasmi and Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal readout instructions in Sindhi, Urdu and English Languages from the control room for guidance of the candidates.
The University of Sindh has also notified the results of the test and posted website at www.usindh.edu.pk. The SUTC has also notified names of the top ten candidates secured high score out of 400 among 415 candidates.
