Message from Air Chief Marshal, NI(M), S.BT, Chief of The Air Staff

24 Nov, 2009

Today, we celebrate the momentous event of the rollout of first JF-17 aircraft produced in Pakistan. It is indeed a landmark achievement, which signifies the triumph of the will of our nation. It is an occasion for the entire nation to celebrate and thank Allah Almighty Who has guided and enabled us to turn our dream into reality.
Production of first JF-17 aircraft in Pakistan brings to fruition thousands of hours of labour, spent in conceptualising, designing and building an aircraft through an intricate process. All the more, the achievement could not have been possible without the help and support of our Chinese friends, who have immensely contributed to the project. JF-17 Programme - a symbol of Pak-China friendship - jointly launched by PAF and CATIC has indeed come a long way. It is achieving our main objectives of strengthening the national security through indigenization and building Pakistan's Aviation related Industries. Importantly, the scope of this project is not limited to producing aircraft for Pakistan and China alone; the third party sales would Inshallah accrue substantial financial benefits in near future.
On this occasion, I congratulate the hardworking team of PAF pilots, engineers, technicians and all those associated with this vital project, who toiled day and night to make the production of JF-17 aircraft possible. Their tremendous effort, combined with the guidance and support of our Chinese friends, has turned our national dream into reality.
With this giant leap, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra has successfully transitioned from maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft and components to the production and manufacturing of fighter aircraft and its components. I wish to thank the Government of Pakistan for extending unhindered support to this project. May Allah Almighty grant more successes and achievements to Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and Pakistani nation in our future endeavours, and give us the strength to fulfil our national duty to the best of our abilities. Aameen. Pakistan Air Force Zindabad; Pakistan Paindabad
