Business community will have to maintain unity in their ranks if they want to get their problems and issues resolved. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan said this while addressing a meeting of Citizen Social Forum (CSF) held on Monday night. He expressed grave concern over the differences among different ranks of business community and said that this is the main cause of their failure to get their problems resolved yet.
He said that if the businessmen unite then they will be able to raise their issues effectively and would be in the position to force the authority concerned to solve their problems on priority basis. The senator pointed out that he had visited Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Karachi, Lahore, Gugranwala, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and asked them to forward him problems and issues faced by their members while carrying out business and industrial activities.
None of them have forwarded to him any issue so for in this regard, he added. Abdul Haseeb Khan advised the business community to bring the problems to his knowledge and he assured that he would raise the problems of business community effectively in the Senate meeting and make all efforts to resolve their issues.
He, further, said that the country is passing through serious crises, and the condition of general public is miserable due to frequent increase in power and gas tariffs, high transportation charges. Moreover, he said that still no leader or political party is ready to speak for the welfare of general public except for MQM Chief, Altaf Hausain.
He said that MQM is also gaining popularly in other provinces due to its people's friendly policies. Winning two seats in recent Kashmir election and one seat in Gilgit election is a proof of it. He said that political instability has destroyed business activities in the country. Abdul Haseeb Khan said that power and gas tariffs are on increase, which will lead to increase food inflation.
