Central Secretary General, Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP), Malik Muhammad Ramzan has urged the Punjab government to take notice of alleged extortion mafia, active in the province especially in Muzaffargarh district, depriving the farmers of their hard earned money.
In a statement issued here Tuesday, the Secretary General, KBP claimed that some persons in district Muzaffargarh, with political patronage, were extorting Rs 50 per trolley loaded with sugarcane. He said that those who refused to pay this money were beaten and humiliated. Farmers were protesting against this injustice and had informed the district administration many times, but those involved in this crime were continuing their activities, he added.
