Christian Colony Gojra, Chak Korian: reconstruction, rehabilitation work to be completed soon

Reconstruction and rehabilitation work in Christian Colony Gojra and Chak Korian would be completed soon and families affected in the result of Gojra incident have started shifting in newly constructed houses in both colonies. It was expressed by Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain while chairing a meeting to review the progress of rehabilitation and construction in Christian colony Gojra and Chak Korian.
DCO Toba Tek Singh Amanullah Khan, Director Development Dr Tariq Sardar, SE Prov. Buildings Chaudhry Ghazanfar Ali, TMO Gojra and other officers were present in the meeting. It was told in the meeting that funds for more than Rs 64 million provided for the reconstruction of 68 houses and 2 churches in Christian Colony Gojra while Rs 85 million were released for the construction of 49 houses and 2 churches for Chak Korian in which 41 houses were completed and 36 were handed over to their owners while construction of both churches have also completed.
It was mentioned that 52 houses have been constructed in Christian Colony Gojra while 19 double story houses are to be constructed in the same Colony. Concerned officers clarified the reasons for delay in construction due to frequent rains and load shedding of electrify at the site of work. Divisional commissioner directed the concerned officers for the early completion of remaining work and expressed his satisfaction over the completed constructional and rehabilitation work in both colonies.
