Pakistanis in Beijing celebrate Eid with zeal, fervour

Pakistanis living in China celebrated Eid-Ul-Azha with religious zeal and fervour on Saturday. A large Eid congregation was held at the mosque of Pakistan Embassy. Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khan, envoys of various Islamic countries and Pakistani diplomats, staff, Principal of Pakistan Embassy College Beijing, teachers, bankers, businessmen and students in large number attended the Eid prayers.
On the occasion, Imam Ishaq Ahmed offered special prayers for the unity, solidarity, integrity and well being of the Muslim Ummah and people of Pakistan. Later, they sacrificed animals for which arrangements were made on the outskirts of Beijing. Meanwhile, Eid congregations were also held in different parts of China. Chinese Muslims in different Pakistani cities assembled at the federal capital Islamabad to celebrate Eid-Ul-Azha. Raza Khan, head of the association of the overseas Chinese of the Uyghur nationality in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in this connection hosted a reception at his residence said a Xinhua report from Islamabad.
Chinese Muslims in twin cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and nearby cities and diplomats of the Chinese embassy were present at the reception. Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui greeted all the Muslims with best wishes for their traditional festival. He also presented gifts to them. Traditional Muslim food was offered and goats were sacrificed on the occasion.
