Rs 510 million being spent on upgradation of hospitals in Southern Punjab

Punjab government is spending more than Rs 510 million rupees on the upgradation of public sector hospitals to provide modern health care facilities to people of remote area in southern Punjab. MPA Chaudhry Ejaz Shafi said this in a meeting with officers of health, building and revenue departments here on Wednesday.
He told the meeting that Rs 50 million would be spent on the upgradation of THQ Hospital Khanpur and that the funds had been released for the purpose. "The amount of eight million rupees and Rs 2.5 million have also been released for the upgradation of BHU 31-L and RHC Bagh-o-Bahar respectively", he said. Chaudhry Ejaz Shafi said a modern kidney centre would be set up at Govt Syed Altaf Hussain Shah Eye Hospital Khanpur at a cost Rs 450 million to facilitate the kidney patients in this remote area.
