Despite repeated attempts the Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority (SKAA) has failed to get NOC from the federal govt land owning departments, to comply with Sindh Assembly resolution for transformation of regularisation rights of occupied katchi abadis, as the concerned departments are not responding to the letters sent by SKAA.
The authority has written letters to the concerned authorities at Pakistan Railway (PR), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Evacue Trust Property Board, PWD department, Telephone and Telegraph (TNT), Federal Board of Revenue, Central Excise and Land Custom (CELC) and other land owning department to transfer regularisation rights but all in vain, sources told Business Recorder on Wednesday.
They said the authority has started the project and written letters to the Deputy Superintendent (DS) Sindh Railways Department and the department accept the offer to conduct a joint survey of katchi abadis encroached at the land of PR. The authority has formed five survey teams to complete the survey and requested the PR authorities to depute their teams to complete the survey, they said.
They said the department has directed the regional field officers of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana to make necessary arrangements between November 14 to November 16 for conducting joint survey. "The field officers have completed all the arrangements but no official from PR has visited the regional field offices for resurvey of katchi abadis," they added.
They said the provincial authority also approached the concerned authorities at Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Evacue Trust Property Board (ETPB), Planning and Works Department (PWD), Telephone and Telegraph (TNT), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Central Excise and Land Custom (CELC), but they neither respond nor contact with SKAA for resolving the issue.
