Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday stressed the need for a mechanism to make the strategic dialogue process with the United Kingdom more meaningful and result oriented. He was talking to British Foreign Secretary David Miliband who called on him here at his hotel. Gilani discussed the gains made by Pakistan against militancy, including the successful law enforcement operation in Malakand and said similar success was being achieved in Waziristan.
Gilani attributed the success to the national consensus against extremism forged by the democratic government and across the board resolve of the nation to eliminate terrorism. The British Foreign Secretary informed the Prime Minister on the forthcoming international conference on Afghanistan on January 28 in London which will be attended by its neighbours, regional countries and Nato allies conference.
